The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them. DCMC helps students to develop their self-confidence and self-concept. The School Counsellor works with the larger educational team to provide information about issues involving students’ mental health and creating a climate of caring and support. She helps the students work through academic challenges. She often works with students in special education programmes to help them find the best learning environments. Students come to School Counsellor when they’re frustrated or fed up with their classes. When students feel like they’re not smart enough or no amount of studying will help them pass the class, the Counsellor at that time helps the students to believe in themselves. DCMC also takes care of the holistic development of the students without any obstacle of physical disabilities, learning disabilities and behavioural problems. Earnest effort is made by the Counsellor to help the students to control their anger and fear.
